Independent School

Category: Type of Establishment. An Independent School is any school which provides full time education for 5 or more pupils of compulsory school age, which is not maintained by a local authority or a non-maintained special school.

Independent School approved for SEN Pupils

Category: Type of Establishment. An independent school approved for SEN pupils is a special school equivalent of an Independent School catering wholly or mainly for children with statutory statements of special educational needs. It has been approved by the DfE for SEN provision.

Independent Special School

Category: Type of Establishment. An Independent Special School is equivalent to an Independent School catering wholly or mainly for children with statutory statements of special educational needs.

Investors in People is a national Standard that can be used by any organisation to enhance the development of its staff. The Standard provides a coherent framework for whole school staff development that links with, and supports, other developments within the school.
